Emotional intelligence Workshops

My 1-day experiential workshop is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to develop their emotional intelligence and strengthen their ability to deal with challenges and perform at their best, both in and outside of the workplace. Using a science-based approach, participants will be able to create a personalised menu of tools and practices that will help them build and maintain a new foundation for well-being and emotional intelligence.

Key Learning Objectives

  • Support the development of emotional intelligence as a key transferrable skill.

  • Develop the ability for emotional regulation and resilience through an engaging and creative approach using education and practical tools, such as breathwork, movement and mindfulness.

  • Develop enhanced life skills as the workshop learnings can be used on an ongoing basis.

  • Meet the need of early intervention to support mental well-being and thereby positively impact absenteeism, sick leave, and burnout.

  • Build sustainable (self)support rather than a temporary respite from any issues participants might experience.

  • Provide an opportunity for participants to connect and share, supporting network development.

Key Outcomes

  • Enhanced emotional intelligence, i.e., improved self-awareness, self-regulation, social awareness, and relationship management.

  • Improved resilience for participants to support their mental health.

  • Increased ability to self-regulate emotions, thereby supporting more optimal performance.

Who Should Attend

This workshop was originally developed for and delivered to young apprentices and graduates. The unique methods I adopt to foster emotional intelligence allow employees at the start of their career to understand and use one of the most fundamental skills to maintain well-being, high performance and minimise the risk of burnout.

This workshop can be adapted to suit different audiences at all levels of the organisation, including team leaders, managers, and senior management. Instead of a 1-day workshop, it can also be delivered as multiple, shorter workshops to suit the audience.

  • Attending the emotional intelligence was a great experience to learn more about my nervous system, and how to work with it to make myself feel more energised and motivated throughout the day. It equipped me with many exercises, to control my emotions and sensations within my body. The content was presented well with many visuals as well as lots of interaction and activities. Marjolein created a welcoming and calm environment, as well as showing her knowledge and clear passion for the subject.

  • This was an extremely valuable workshop created and hosted by Marjolein. I was impressed at how complex the human nervous system can be and the ways it directly affects a person’s response to stress. Not only did I learn more about how people receive and respond to intense and uncomfortable settings, but I also gained a greater understanding about myself and my tolerance levels in overwhelming situations. Emotional intelligence is more than understanding feelings, it is about awareness, regulation, and relationship management, and understanding those key elements can improve social skills, work-life balance, and help manage stress and anxiety as it has for me. There have been some beneficial practices from this that I have incorporated in my day-to-day and would recommend this to anyone who values personal and professional development.

Mahima Zara Begum, Fitch Learning apprentice

  • I have had the pleasure of working with Marjolein previously. The Emotional Intelligence Workshop was a transformative experience that exceeded all expectations. The workshop provided invaluable insights into understanding and managing emotions, both personally and professionally. Participants were equipped with practical tools and strategies to enhance self-awareness, empathy, and communication skills. The engaging and interactive sessions allowed learners to explore real-life scenarios, fostering a deeper understanding of emotional dynamics in various contexts. The workshop facilitation was exceptional, creating a supportive environment where everyone felt comfortable sharing and learning. As a result of this workshop, attendees reported significant improvements in their interpersonal relationships, decision-making abilities, and stress management. The newfound skills have not only enhanced personal growth but also contributed to a more harmonious and productive workplace atmosphere. Overall, the Emotional Intelligence Workshop was an empowering experience that has left a lasting positive impact on all who participated.
